Support Black Owned Businesses

From wineries and chocolate shops to podcasts and BBQ spots, the Tri-Valley is home to several black owned businesses.

Longevity Wines
Winemaker Phil Long is the president of the Association of African American Vitners (AAAV) and the founder of Longevity Wines. This Livermore Valley winery has been featured in a variety of television shows and publications like Oprah Daily, Wine Enthusiast, and Cosmopolitan.

Free Range Winery
Free Range Flower Winery is an award-winning, black-owned and operated Livermore Valley winery that handcrafts premium wine in small batches from locally sourced organically grown flowers – not grapes. Drawing from her background in biology, herbalism and nutrition education, Free Range Flower Winery founder Aaliyah Nitoto combines her knowledge of flowers and plants, taste profiles, and science into the art of flower wine making.

Art of Africa Gallery

The Blackhawk Museum, located in Danville, consists of five world-class galleries all housed under one roof. While its mostly known for its rotating car collection featuring rare and historically significant automobiles, it’s also home to the award-winning Spirit of the Old West gallery, the World of Nature gallery, the Into China gallery, and the Art of Africa gallery (pictured above).

This gallery features art created by many indigenous peoples of sub-Saharan Africa like intricate wood sculptures, instruments, and ceremonial masks.
