Weather
With more than 300+ days of sun, “Sunshine You Can Count On,” isn’t just a Tri-Valley motto, it’s a way of life. Though the seasons are on the mild side in the San Francisco Bay Area, you are promised four distinct seasons in the Tri-Valley. From colors changing to nighttime temperatures, every season of the year has unique characteristics.
Autumn
As the leaves are changing colors and temperatures are averaging in the 70s, Autumn is an incredible time to visit the Tri-Valley. Our vineyards are showing orange and red hues, the trees are turning and the leaves are falling in our many parks. You should still expect warm days, but keep in mind the evenings are cooling down, so you may need a light sweater.
Winter
Days are shorter and holiday lights are up in full force. Visitors will experience rainfall on occasion yet will continue to enjoy our outdoor venues such as the San Francisco Premium Outlets, Del Valle Regional Park, Mt. Diablo and our historic Wine Country. During the winter months, our rolling hills turn a beautifully bright green. You should expect mid-low 60s during the day with temperatures cooling into the 40s at night.
Spring
Springtime is the season to blossom in the Tri-Valley. Flowers and trees are blooming like crazy, our vineyards start to bud and slowly our hills begin to turn to the iconic golden coloring that represents the state of California. Visitors should expect temperatures to begin rising in May, while nights remain cool.
Summer
Remember your sunscreen! Although we experience the coastal breeze through our valleys, regional temperatures average in the 90s. You’ll find locals in our region’s family-friendly fountains and lakes to cool down while enjoying the sunshine. And let’s not forget al fresco dining, the Tri-Valley’s warm summer nights are perfect for evenings on the patio.
