Blend Your Own Wine at this Livermore Valley Winery

Wente Vineyard's Winemaking Blending Experience

wente wine blending experience

Voted Best Tasting Room / Wine Experience by Sunset Magazine, Wente’s Winemaker’s Studio nestled in the heart of Livermore Valley Wine Country certainly doesn’t disappoint. While the long-standing winery is knowing for paving the way for 80% of today’s California Chardonnay and serving their award-winning wines from their lush Livermore tasting rooms, their Winemaker’s Studio is where amateur sommeliers and first time tasters alike are encouraged to learn and participate in various facets of winemaking.

The Winemaking Blending Experience starts off with a brief explanation and a quick taste of each varietal that each guest will use while creating their own personal blend. Each barrel contains 100% of one varietal, which even most wine-lovers don’t get a chance to try!

After taste-testing each varietal, it’s time to start blending! Using the same tools that Wente’s winemakers use in crafting their award-winning wines, guests will begin blending different varietals to see which unique flavors suit them best.

Once their perfect mix is done, it’s time to bottle it up! With the help of the tasting room team, guests will fill, cork, and seal their very own wine blend (completely customized to how they like it). Some guests save their bottles for a special day while others decide to enjoy it sooner rather than later.

The percentage of each varietal is recorded on every Winemaker’s Blending Experience bottle, so if guests really love their blend, recreating it is perfectly possible. But, the experiences at the Winemaker’s Studio don’t stop there!
